Description: Using a field taken from the Pima County Assessor's Office records for parcels in the Tucson city limits, this layer APPROXIMATES a property's date of construction, color-coded by time periods, based on assessments. (Former methods used by the Assessor's Office to record construction activity on a property involved adjusting the ACTUAL year built and replacing it the a year calculated using a specific formula.) ACTUAL DATE OF CONSTRUCTION, where available, is a better figure for determining age of historic buildings. It is a field included in the Building Footprints & Info layer and in the formal historic documentation.
